Pumice stone is a special kind of stone, mainly formed by volcanic magma after a sudden cooling, with porous, light weight characteristics. Its pore volume accounts for more than 50% of the rock volume, so it can float on the surface of the water. The volume of the pores in the pumice stone is 64 to 85 percent of the total volume, which allows air to hide inside the stone, allowing it to float on the water.
